Frequently Asked Questions About Painting Your Home

Q. What Should I Look For In A Good Painting Contractor?

A. There are a number of different factors you're going to want to consider when shopping around for the right painting contractor. First, you'll want to make sure you hire someone you can easily get in touch with. You don't want to have to struggle to coordinate and plan your project simply because your chosen contractor won't return your calls promptly. Next, it's always a good idea to check the reviews for the contractor you're considering, as getting an idea of other customers' experiences can help you get a clearer understanding of their work ethic and the kind of results they produce.

Q. Is There A Difference Between Paints?

A. While all paints might look the same when they're in the can, higher-quality paints will make a huge difference when they're finally applied to your walls. High-quality paints tend to consist of better ingredients and less fillers, which mean that once they're applied to your walls, they tend to not only look better, but they're longer-lasting, provide better coverage, and experience fewer issues over the course of their lifespan than lower-quality paints.

Q. What Paints Do You Use?

A. We prefer to use Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, and Glidden paint products most of the time, but if a customer has a specific preference, or the nature of the job requires something different, our team of professionals will make it happen. Regardless of brand, we strive to make sure you're getting the best paint for your particular project first and foremost.

Q. Do I Need To Be Home While The Job Is Ongoing?

A. Only if you want to be. While we like to arrive on the job while someone is home, we can make arrangements to pick up a key if necessary. Also, if you can't be home for the entire process, or you would just like to get out of the house to grab some coffee while the work is ongoing, you're more than welcome to do so. Our team of professionals will continue to work until the job is done.

Q. What Prep Work Do I Need To Do?

A. You don't have to worry about prep work, as our team of professionals will take care of it when we arrive. If you want to move any furniture out of the way, or remove any breakable objects from the painting area, it will save us some time, but our team of professionals can take care of it if you don't have the time. As for our prep, we'll make sure that all surfaces to be painted are properly washed and scraped, all adjacent surfaces are well protected, and the surface of your interior or exterior walls are properly prepared to ensure adhesion of your new paint. If there is any special preparation you'd like to have done, we can discuss that while coming up with your estimate.
